*** What is Mindeful Movement?  It's similar to yoga but rather a chance for you to get your muscles limber and lengthened, warm-up your body, and tune your mindset to a frequency that'll support your mental game as well as your physical. Click here to learn more about Jackie and her studio in downtown Portsmouth, NH.

  • The 2020 and 2021 prints were AHHHHMAZING and keeping with the effort to change things up a bit, Dan Blakeslee has been commissioned yet again to create a custom black and white print for the New Castle 10K and I'm giving you an 11" x 17" poster print of this masterpiece for free - JUST FOR SIGNING UP! The hope is to commission Dan each year to make a different print for the race - to collect year after year.

  • Please note the details below:

    • The print will not be available to view until closer to race day but I'll post it on FB and IG when it is available. You can't rush creativity, so we're expecting a sneak peek sometime in March, 2022.
    • If you do not pick up your bib and poster print, we are unable to ship it to you.

    • Prints are ONLY AVAILABLE to registered runners - not available for sale within the store or at the event.

  • If you don't know who Dan is, he's an EXTREMELY talented artist who's claim to fame includes the Heady Topper beer logo, and the Newport Folk Festival 2019 print. Check out some of his work by clicking here...

  • Gray & blue fitted crew style sweatshirt = $22

    • Click here for image and sizing chart for 2021
    • I LOVE this sweatshirt! We switched from the hoodie option in 2020 and while the hoodie will most likely make a comback in future years, the crew sweatshirt is unreal! So, welcome crew!

    • Last day to purchase this apparel item is 7/25/2021 (there will be a limited amount for sale at registration; random sizing )

  • 2018, 2019, and 2020 goodies for sale during online registration and random items available at day of registration; cash, check, or Venmo only (no cards)

BIB PICKUP (and other items)

  • Friday, September 10th at Runner's Alley in downtown Portsmouth - from 3pm - 6pm.

  • Saturday, September 11th near the race start line, from 8am - 9:15am

  • PLEASE NOTE you can have someone else pick up your bib but they must also be running in the race and picking up their bib and items. The reason for this is so that we can track who is picking up your items, due to the items we're giving away. Sorry for any inconvenience. This is not negotiable so please do not ask if we can make an exception. Parking at the event is very close to the start line, so you will have time to drop your items in your car before you start.

  • There will be a table setup to pick up items from the 2020 virtual race. This is the final pickup option for 2020 gear.

Friendly race

  • The locals will tell you that the "New Castle Loop" is almost a right of passage to being a local and running on the Seacoast. Highlights of this race include running over 4 bridges, and the stunning views, including the Portsmouth Shipyard, the shuttered naval prison, the Piscataqua River, lobster boats, sailboats, the lighthouse, and the Wentworth by the Sea Hotel and Marina. With all of the friendly faces, this race is sure to be one of your favorites.

This race is LIMITED TO 650 RUNNERS, so reserve your spot now!

  • We're working our hardest to keep this event as environmentally friendly as possible. With that said, some of our steps towards a zero impacting event include:

    • This is a NO PLASTIC BOTTLE event! Instead of providing plastic bottles for everyone as they cross the finish line, we will be providing finishers with a compostable cup to fill with water and then dispose of into a compostable trash bag.

    • Water stops will be providing water to runners in compostable cups, and then disposing of into a compostable trash bag.

    • This is a carry-in, carry-out event! We only have 1 trash barrel at the event with the goal to NOT fill it; we barely filled it in 2018 and 2019. Plus, in 2020 we didn't add anything to it (but we were virtual, ha)!

  • There is parking at the event, however, while we didn't have any problems fitting everyone in previous years, it's important to know there are a limited amount of spaces. Don't stress about it - we'll make it work, but we need to work together. Please review the tips below to help avoid any problems.

  • Tips to ensure there will be parking for everyone:

    • Please follow the guidance of the amazing volunteers when entering the Great Island Common

    • Carpool if you can (most runners carpooled in previous years - THANK YOU)

    • Ride your bike if you're local

    • Spend the night on the lawn

    • Swim in from the Isle of Shoals

    • NO parking on the road outside of the Great Island Common or in the library parking lot (please, we don't want to possibly impact the residents or guests; but just in case - there will be signs)
